Leverage: how to set it and what caps apply

Leverage is chosen per order from the Leverage dropdown in the Order Ticket (options: 1:5, 1:10, 1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:300, 1:500). The list is automatically filtered to your effective ceiling, which is the lowest of three limits: the symbol's maximum, your account leverage setting, and your membership tier cap.

  • Symbol maximums: forex and crypto 1:500, commodities and indices 1:200, stocks and ETFs 1:20.
  • Tier leverage caps: Minimum 1:30, Standard 1:100, Trader 1:200, Professional 1:300, Gold 1:400, Platinum 1:500, Diamond / Sheik 1:500.

Higher leverage lowers the required margin for a position but increases risk. The terminal defaults new tickets to a conservative 1:20 (or the symbol max if lower). Even if you send a higher value directly, the server clamps it to the smallest of these limits rather than rejecting the trade.

  1. 1Open the Order Ticket and find the Leverage dropdown.
  2. 2Pick a ratio — only values allowed by your ceiling are shown.
  3. 3Note the effective cap = min(symbol max, your account leverage, tier cap).
  4. 4Watch the Required Margin figure update as you change leverage.
